In recent years there has been a steady increase in demand for used Japanese vehicles because of their reputation for good quality and dependability at an affordable price.
Japanese used cars, trucks and buses are now exported to more than 150 countries and regions, and as the economies in developing countries gain momentum the demand is expected to increase.
More than 700,000 units of used vehicles are exported from Japan to overseas markets annually. Most of them have been purchased at auto auctions in Japan.

Recently, there was an increase in trouble and problems related to used vehicle information as a huge amount of information has been disorderedly spread to car buyers and importers worldwide. This could spoil the benefits of car buyers abroad.
To prevent such events and to provide proper information on used vehicles, the iATA will build an official website for worldwide importers and car buyers. When it begins full-scale operations, at least 30 auto auction halls will upload their information on used vehicles via the iATA website.
